What is Information Literacy?

Answer

Information literacy is a set of skills and dispositions regarding where and how to find information, how to evaluate information for relevance, quality, and bias, and how to use information legally and ethically.

NECC Librarians work with students and faculty to teach information literacy skills in classes.

If you are a faculty member looking to schedule an information literacy session with a librarian, please email the library at reference@necc.mass.edu.

If you are a student looking to schedule a research checkpoint for your information literacy intensive class, please schedule an appointment through Navigate.
